Ben-Zion | Etched Plates

While many of Ben Zion's works were eclipsed at one time by more modern forms of expression, time has shown that his fidelity to form, line and color created enduring and important collections of his works. Among these are his etchings, many of which can be seen at the Metropolitan Museum in New York City. POBA has been given access to a rare set of his signed limited edition plates of some of his most important etchings, here depicting moments and persons in the Old Testament. As etchings, the lines are clear, round and thick, in contrast to the lush and textured lines found in many of his paintings and sketches and the whimsical forms found in many of his sculptures.
