Elizabeth Fairgrieve | Crosses

Though she had stepped out of the Catholicism she was raised in, Elizabeth took an interest in creating a series of driftwood crosses. Elizabeth grew up in Long Island, New York, loved the beach, and during her beachcombing excursions on vacations would sometimes pick up driftwood pieces. From that, together with the shells and stones she culled from the bounty of the waves, Elizabeth created some unique crosses. Some of the crosses were sold, but a photo record was taken of most of them.
