Leslie Gillette Jackson | Inspired by the Dunes

"A Strange Light" - one of the collections of poetry and drawings created by Leslie Gillette Jackson (1921-2013) - was inspired by her life in the wild and rustic areas of Cape Cod. Here, we have a collection of photos taken by her friend, Claire Flanders, that show some of Leslie's works in progress while on retreat in the dune lands. The notebook is displayed on POBA as it exists today. The simple, rough beauty found in the dunes and rustic home are echoed in many of the drawn and literary works Leslie created.
