Patrick Kelly | First The Sketch

Patrick Kelly (1955-1990) created original designs that capture the playfulness and artistry of a master fashion designer at work. Raw and unique, these sketches we see here offer a rare look into the creative process of a world-class designer who was both precise and precocious. Acclaimed as an extraordinary fashion designer, he was known for his signature mixture of fun and chic feminine fashion designs, mixing classic style with fanciful embellishments to create collections both timeless and of their time. His specialty was hand made, snug fitting designs primarily featuring buttons, his trademark embellishment.
